Master Pastry Chef Gunther Heiland earned the Certified Master Pastry Chef title in 1981.

 Career Highlights:

  • Worked in prestigious luxury hotels across Iran, Portugal, Germany, and Austria.
  • Moved to the United States in 1975
  • Former Corporate Pastry Chef at Omni International Hotels in Atlanta and former Executive Pastry Chef at The Bellevue Stratford Hotel in Philadelphia.
  • Founded Desserts International, a wholesale dessert enterprise based in Exton, PA.
  • Culinary Olympic Champion: Competed in the Culinary Olympics in Frankfurt, Germany (1976, 1980, 1984), earning gold medals in all entries.
  • Named 1978 Chef of the Year by the Chefs Association of Greater Atlanta.
  • Recognized as 1998 Pastry Chef of the Year by Chef Magazine.
  • Received the Prestigious Joseph Amendola Award by the American Academy of Chefs in 2009
  • Honored with a star on the Walk of Fame at the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco for his contributions to the industry.
  • Chef Heiland is a Fellow of the American Academy of Chefs, a valued member of the Retail Bakers of America, and has been a member of the American Culinary Federation since 1988
