David Megenis, CMC
Honors graduate and fellowship of the Culinary Institute of America in 1980. David gained industry experience as Sous Chef and Chef in various styles of restaurants and hotels. He completed training in Belgium, which laid a foundation for diversity and long-term industry growth. Upon return, David held numerous Chef positions in the New England area.
In 1986, Chef Megenis returned to the Institute to pursue a career as a chef Instructor that would last 10 years. During this time, he served as Senior Chef Instructor of the American Bounty for 4 years and the remainder of his time as a Team Leader for Equipment and Facilities and Curriculum Development. In 1989, Dave successfully completed his Master Chef Exam Certification.
Currently, David has 35 years of food service experience and is a Vice President for United Natural Foods. David is also a food show competition judge for the American Culinary Federation, and enjoys working with food service professionals in all stages of their career development.
